Transfer check
Two calls ask to be put through: one for the owner during business hours, one for an emergency after hours when nobody will pick up. The receptionist is set up with the names and numbers to use, and the recording shows what it did.

What the transfer check is
Transfers are set up the same way for every brand: emergencies and the owner go to one person, billing to another, and the destination is a test mobile I hold. The check grades the receptionist on naming the right person in its first reply, on what it asks before transferring, on whether the phone actually rang, and on what it told the caller when nobody answered.
How it works
- The transfer rules are entered in the vendor's setup, the same for every brand.
- The business-hours call asks for the owner by name; the after-hours call reports an emergency.
- The recording and the test mobile show whether the receptionist named the right person, what it asked first, whether the mobile rang, and what the caller heard when the transfer failed.
- Where a brand offers a fallback, the transfer is pointed at a number that never answers to see the fallback message.
What it records
- Per transfer call
- The person named, the questions asked before the transfer, whether the phone rang, what the owner heard, and the fallback message.
What it cannot catch
- On a browser test line, where a real transfer cannot happen, the grade rests on what the receptionist says it would do, and the review marks it provisional.
- Whether the mobile rang is reported by the person holding it.
Where it was used
Every published review that ran this checker, with the figure it produced there, read from the review’s own data. Each figure opens the test results behind it.
