Booking check

The business calendar is filled in advance with two jobs on every weekday and a day the plumber is off. Three calls then book a job, try to move it onto the day off, and cancel it. After each call the calendar itself is checked, because what the receptionist says it did and what it did are two different things.

What the booking check is

Many receptionists confirm a booking on the phone. Fewer put it in the calendar, at the right time, without double-booking. The check is the calendar, opened after each call and again a few minutes later, never the receptionist's word.

How it works

  1. The calendar is prepared with the fixed jobs and the day off, the same for every brand that connects a calendar.
  2. The booking call asks for a slot; the move call asks to move it onto the day off, which should be refused; the cancel call cancels.
  3. After each call the calendar is read: the entry, its time, and whether anything was double-booked or moved onto the day off.
  4. The calendar is read again a few minutes later, because some vendors write late.
  5. Vendor bookings are never deleted by me, so the record stays as the receptionist left it.

What it records

Per booking call
What the receptionist said, what the calendar showed straight after and a few minutes later.

What it cannot catch

  • The check is by hand.
  • A brand with no calendar connection has no booking section; the review says so instead of grading it.

Where it was used

Every published review that ran this checker, with the figure it produced there, read from the review’s own data. Each figure opens the test results behind it.
