Test business page
Some receptionists set themselves up by reading the business's website. For those, the fictional business has one: a single hidden page with the same twenty facts every brand gets, so a receptionist built from the website is tested on exactly what the others were told.
- When it runs
- During setup, for vendors that read a website
- Used in
- no published review yet
- Runs on
- A page on this site that search engines are told to ignore
What the test business page is
The page carries the business's story, address, phone number, team and a list of questions and answers with every fact in the brief: hours, emergency cover and its fee, the service area, the call-out fee and when it is waived, the hourly rate, the fixed prices, what the business does not do, payment, warranty and estimates. It is marked so that search engines leave it alone, and it is never linked from the site.
How it works
- The page is written from the business brief, fact for fact.
- For a vendor that reads a website, its address is given at setup instead of typing the facts in.
- For a vendor that will not accept it, the same facts go in through the vendor's knowledge base or a typed price list, and the review says which.
What it records
- Per review
- How the facts went in: the page, a knowledge base upload, or typed by hand.
What it cannot catch
- Vendors that take a website read the whole domain, not only the page, and may list this site as the business's website.
- A vendor that refuses the address gets the facts another way, which makes its setup different from the page readers'.
Where it was used
Built and checked; the first review to use it will appear here when it is published.
