Fact and trap check
Every receptionist is set up with the same fictional plumbing business, with twenty facts: hours, prices, fees, the service area. The calls ask for those facts, and some calls push for a discount or a promise the business never makes. What the receptionist said is checked against the brief, line by line.

What the fact and trap check is
The caller's plan carries, for each line, the fact the receptionist should state, and the words that would mean it gave something away. During the call a fact not heard gets one push-back, and any concession is flagged. After the calls I read every transcript against the brief and fill the grading sheet: facts right, facts wrong or missing, and for each trap whether the receptionist held or gave in.
How it works
- The business brief lists the facts and the things the business does not do or offer.
- Each call plan line carries the expected fact and the forbidden wording.
- During the call the caller flags a fact it did not hear and tries once more, and flags any forbidden wording as a concession.
- After the calls, every transcript is read against the brief and each fact marked right, wrong or missing, and each trap held or conceded.
- The accuracy grade follows the share of facts right; the off-script grade follows the traps held.
What it records
- Per call
- Per line, the expected fact, whether it was heard, whether it was heard anywhere in the call, and any concession flagged.
- Per review
- The grading sheet: facts right out of facts asked, and traps held out of traps set.
What it cannot catch
- The caller's flags are word matches and can fire on the brief's own figures; the grading sheet, filled by reading, is the record.
- The final grading is by hand.
