Miles FosterOwner and tester, RankDude
Every month I measure 17 AI personal assistant sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai personal assistant" plus the most-visited AI personal assistant sites overall. In September 2026 they got about 561,263 visits from Google, 41% more than a year ago.

Market demand
1Is the AI personal assistant market growing in 2026?
Shrinking, but visits are up 24% over the last six months.
Over two years, visits went from 599K in October 2024 to a high of 678K in December 2024, fell to 338K in July 2026, and recovered to 561K in September 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Sai by Simular, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are down and name searches are down, so they agree.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI personal assistants in 2026?
“ai personal assistant” is searched about 12,100 times a month worldwide, 45% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai personal assistant” until June 2025; interest then climbed to its peak in May 2026. Americans make 45% of the searches but only 28.7% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Canada and United Kingdom.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is higher than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI personal assistant market in September 2026?
More visits than a year ago only because of Sai by Simular, but fewer people searching by name, and the next six months look flat after a step down.
The losers, led by Shortwave, lost most of their search visits (-93%).

Huge percentages like Reclaim.ai’s +25% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI personal assistants?
I expect October 2026 to be 4% fewer than September 2026, and the next six months to look down.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. October is usually a quieter month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.
