They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai design tools" plus the most-visited AI design tool sites overall. In September 2026 they got about 221 million visits from Google, 1% fewer than a year ago.

Growing, but visits are down 18% since April 2026.
Over two years, visits went from 239M in October 2024 to a high of 270M in April 2026, and stand at 221M in September 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Canva, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Google Trends barely registered “ai design tools” until June 2025; interest then climbed to its peak in March 2026. Americans make 29% of the searches but only 6.9% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Brazil and Canada.

3What changed in the AI design tool market in September 2026?
About as many visits than a year ago only because of Canva, name searches holding steady, and the next six months look flat.
The fastest growers over the year, UX Pilot, Figma and Magic Patterns, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Designs.ai, lost most of their search visits (-94%).

Huge percentages like UX Pilot’s +457% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.

I expect October 2026 to be about the same as September 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. October is usually a quieter month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.
