“ai companions” is searched about 40,500 times a month worldwide, 37% of it in the US.

Google Trends barely registered “ai companions” until July 2025; interest then climbed to its peak in May 2026. Americans make 37% of the searches but only 17% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Canada and Brazil.

More visits than a year ago, more people searching by name, and the next six months look like growth.

The fastest growers over the year, OurDream.ai, HammerAI and Nastia, each grew several times over, usually from a small base. The losers, led by Kuki AI, lost most of their search visits (-97%).

DeepAI and PolyBuzz together hold 78% of all visits. Below the top five the market is long and thin: the other 94 sites share 10.3%.
