Run recorder
A viewer should see an agent work at real speed, with the time on screen, not a cut that hides the wait. The run recorder captures the browser frame by frame while a task runs and builds the clip with a clock and the task id burned in.

- During a task, when the video needs it

- Runs on
- The browser the test runs in
What the run recorder is
The review video shows what the test showed. The recorder takes the frames straight from the browser the agent runs in, so the clip is the product as it behaved, and the clock makes the waiting visible instead of edited away.
How it works
- It sets the browser window to a fixed size at double resolution so text in the recording stays sharp.
- It asks the browser to stream screenshots and saves each frame with the time it arrived.
- It stops when the page shows the words that mark the task as complete, when a stop file appears, or when a time limit is reached.
- It builds a caption track with the clock, the elapsed time, the task id and any marks I added during the run, and joins the frames at real speed into a video, blurring any area I named as private.
What it records
- Per run
- The frames with their times, the start and end, the marks, and the finished clip.
What it cannot catch
- It needs the live browser session the test runs in and a video encoder on the machine.
- It never records payment entry, and any frame with private details must be listed and blurred before use.
- The frame-to-video step has been exercised; the live capture waits for a running session in a test, which is why the status is built rather than proven.
Where it was used
Built and checked; the first review to use it will appear here when it is published.
