Three style pictures for the Juniper & Rye cafe and Wegic's chat asking which style I prefer
T01-2 The three style pictures.
Raw notes

Each of the three fixed briefs was pasted word for word into Wegic's chat. I answered only from the brief and chose the first style each time. The clock ran until a live public address existed, which never happened.

None of the three briefs produced a site. Each needed five answers: the summary, the page plan, an offer of three style pictures, my style choice and the plan. The last answer opened a 'Project Launch Order' with a $2.99 launch fee and the button 'Confirm Launch · Pay $2.99', and the note 'Upgrade to subscription to fully offset $2.99 · One-time payment, no auto-renewal'.

Time to the wall: the cafe took about 10 minutes and 14 of 100 credits, the photographer about 10 minutes and 13 credits, and the shop about 6 minutes and 16 credits. The three style pictures cost 8 to 9 credits each time.

Questions asked (WB-A1): 5 answers per brief. Names and business types appeared in the plans. I did not try giving a logo or photos (WB-A3). The one-line brief (WB-A7) was not run because the credits were needed for the build.

The free template route: 'Use This Template' on wegic.ai/templates opened an editor in about 20 seconds for 4 credits. Pasting the cafe brief into its chat built five pages, and the AI made eight pictures, in about 10 minutes for 51 credits.

  • Times include my own pauses between answers and are approximate.

$7.99 for 100
Remark
Not graded: one edit is too few to grade.
Raw notes

The twelve edits were to be done on the published cafe site by chat. The credits allowed one.

Edit 1 worked: 'Change Saturday and Sunday opening to 9:00 am on every page where the hours appear.' The preview address showed 9:00 am on the home, menu, about, catering and contact pages. It cost 2 credits, and the meter then read 0. A panel said 'You're out of free credits. Buy more credits or upgrade to keep building.' and offered 100 credits for $7.99 ('You can still buy 300 more credits (0 of 300 used)'). The line 'Your Template Credits can only be used for template editing and customization.' followed. The editor's preview then said 'Startup failed. We couldn't connect to your website preview.'

The other eleven edits, the five written instructions (WB-A5), the gallery, video and slider (WB-D5), free placement (WB-E2) and the blank-page build (WB-E1) were not run.

  • The edit was checked on the preview address, not a published site.

Method
Lighthouse is run on the home page and one inner page of each live site, three times each.
Remark
Not graded.
Raw notes

Lighthouse is run on the home page and one inner page of each live site, three times each.

Not run. The preview sits on a temporary address that is not a published site, and the free plan cannot publish, so a score would not describe a real Wegic page.

  • A published site needs a paid plan.

Method
The twelve points are read in the published HTML and files.
Canonical and structured data
Missing on the preview
Remark
Not graded: three of the twelve points can only be read on a published site.
Raw notes

The twelve points are read in the published HTML and files. The sitemap, robots.txt and noindex can only be read on a published site, so the test is not graded.

On the preview: a title and a description on every page, one H1, alt text on all images, Open Graph tags and an English page language. No canonical tag and no structured data. The AI's own SEO helper and Search Console (WB-S1, WB-S3, WB-S4) were not run.

  • Everything here is the preview; a published site may differ.

T05-1 The Publish panel on the free plan.
Raw notes

Each of the twelve points was to be tried as far as the free plan allowed. At each paywall I recorded its words and the price to pass it.

Blocked by a paid plan: publishing ('Upgrade and publish'), a custom domain (Premium at $41.90 a month billed yearly), and selling (Starter lists 'E-commerce products display and inquiry'; I did not test a payment).

The cafe preview has a contact form and a catering form with fields for name, email, phone, guests, date and notes. I could not test that they send email, because nothing was published.

  • No domain was connected, no order was placed and no mailbox was made.
T06

Export & Ownership

n/aNot Tested
Method
I tried to export the site and read the terms on cancelling.
Remark
Not graded.
Raw notes

I tried to export the site and read the terms on cancelling.

Not run. The pricing page lists 'Code export' under Starter. It also says payments, including the $2.99 Trial pack, are non-refundable, and that unused credits are cleared at the end of each monthly cycle. My free plan had nothing published to export.

  • I did not buy a plan, so there was nothing to cancel.

Three fixed questions: connect a domain bought elsewhere, a form message that does not arrive, and changing the card and the billing period.

I emailed the three questions to Wegic's contact address on 28 October 2026 (thread 1a1848fed2abb9c2). No reply had arrived when I wrote this. The AI assistant, Kimmy, was not asked the support questions.

  • The reply time is not known.

Raw notes

Every page of the cafe preview was loaded at 360, 768 and 1440 pixels wide. The checker counted sideways scrolling, tap targets under 24 pixels, text under WCAG AA contrast (axe-core), placeholders, broken images and overlapping text, once per type per page. I then ran axe-core on every page at 1440 and 390 pixels and walked each page with the Tab key.

11 faults on 5 pages: tap targets under 24 pixels and pale text on all five pages, and sideways scrolling on the menu page at 768 pixels. No placeholder, broken image or overlapping text was found.

Accessibility (WB-D3): no critical problems. Serious colour-contrast problems on all 5 pages (3 elements each, 15 in all) and a moderate heading-order problem on 2 pages (home and catering). Every image has alt text (0 missing). Tab reached 17 to 22 of the focusable items per page on desktop and 13 to 18 on a phone, each with a visible focus ring. The page language is English.

The home page has a barista photo that Wegic generated; the three style pictures I chose from were light, and the finished site is dark. Look-alike check (WB-A2) and switching template after the content is in (WB-D1) were not run: only one site exists, and the credits were gone.

  • The checks ran on the preview address of the finished site, before a published site exists.

Remark
20 of 20 is the top band for one brief, but 7 invented claims is more than three, and the scale pushes a grade down for many invented items. None are reviews, awards, prices or contact details, so I stopped at 3/5.

The Juniper & Rye menu page with the Honey Lavender Latte at $5.75 and Drip Coffee at $3.25
T09-1 Every price from the brief is on the menu page.
Raw notes

The cafe brief has 20 facts. Every page of the preview was read and each fact marked right, missing or wrong. Anything the AI added that the brief did not give was listed as invented. The photographer and shop briefs were not built, so they have no facts to check.

All 20 of 20 facts were on the pages: the name, owner, year, address, phone, email, both sets of hours, all five prices, oat milk, Wi-Fi, the patio, catering for up to 40 with 48 hours' notice, the Instagram handle and the five pages with a contact form.

7 invented claims: a 'house-infused' honey lavender syrup, a 'Swedish-style' cardamom bun with pearl sugar, 'naturally leavened' rye, a 'Founder & Baker' title for the owner, 'our bakery team', 'sharp cheddar' on a 'toasted artisan bread', and a barista photo made by the AI. No reviews, awards, staff names or prices were invented. The Instagram link goes to instagram.com and not to the handle.

  • One brief of three. Claims count when they state something about the business that the brief did not give.

Wegic's pricing page with Trial pack at $2.99, Starter at $23.90 a month and Premium at $41.90 a month billed yearly
T10-1 Wegic's plans, billed yearly.
Raw notes

Every plan was read on the pricing page and in the app's plan panel. The figure graded is the yearly cost of the cheapest plan that connects a custom domain and removes the builder's mark.

The free plan gives 100 credits on sign-up. A build from a brief needs a $2.99 launch fee ('Trial pack', no edit credits included). Starter is $23.90 a month billed yearly ($286.80 a year) with 600 credits a month, a wegic.net address, code export and the mark removed. Premium is $41.90 a month billed yearly ($502.80 a year) with 2000 credits a month and a custom domain. The page opened on yearly prices, so monthly prices were not read.

Credits (WB-A6): one cafe build used 51 credits, one edit 2, the five answers and style pictures before a launch 13 to 16. Extra credits cost $7.99 for 100 on the free account. The page says credits left at the end of a month are cleared.

  • I paid nothing. The renewal price, an itemised first-year bill (WB-M2) and monthly prices were not read.

Coverage

Tested

  • Three briefs taken to the launch order
  • A cafe brief built inside a free template, 20 facts checked on five pages
  • Layout, accessibility (axe-core) and a keyboard walk on five pages at three widths
  • One edit by chat, checked on every page
  • Every paywall I reached, with its exact words and the price to pass it

Not tested or limited

  • Free access only: publishing, a custom domain, selling, export and the cancel path need a paid plan, and I did not buy one
  • Only the cafe was built, through a template; the photographer and the shop stopped at the $2.99 launch order
  • No live site exists, so there is no uptime monitor, no test-site card and no speed test of a published page
  • The 100 free credits ran out after one edit, so eleven of the twelve edits, the five written instructions and the restore test were not run
  • Trustpilot blocked my visit, so user reviews were not counted
  • Support is not graded: three questions were emailed on 28 October 2026 and no reply had arrived when I wrote this

Still to test

  • A published site on Starter or Premium: page speed, SEO, the domain, a test order and a cancel
  • The photographer and shop briefs built and checked
  • The twelve edits and the five written instructions
  • Support's reply to the three questions
  • Restoring an earlier version, and the Trustpilot score
