Every month I add up the Google visits to the 42 AI image generator sites I track (DataForSEO estimates) and how often people in the US search for them by name (Google Ads). In September 2026 they got about 49 million visits. Much of the year’s change is one site, DeepAI; without it, visits are about level on a year ago.

The total hides very different stories: one site grew 236% in a year while another lost 92% of its visits. See who grew and who shrank, the visits month by month and the name searches, plus what I expect for October 2026.

1.Are more people visiting AI image generator sites than a year ago?

Up 41% on a year ago; down 4% on August 2026

Only because of DeepAI. The 42 tracked AI image generator sites got 48,710,783 visits from Google search in September 2026. That is 41% more visits than in September 2025, or about the same without DeepAI, and 4% fewer visits than in August 2026.

The highest month of the last two years was June 2026, with 52,090,315 visits; September 2026 is 7% below it. In the US, visits were 6,086,450, up 11% on a year ago.

More visits than a year ago means new people are still finding AI image generator sites through Google. Most of that growth is one site, DeepAI; without it, visits are about level on a year ago.

Down 11% on October 2025; 2.0M name searches a month in the US

Fewer than before. People in the US searched Google for the names of the counted AI image generator sites 2,043,110 times in September 2026, 11% fewer searches than in October 2025. Someone who searches a site’s name already knows it, so this is the clearest sign of people coming back on purpose. The term “ai image generator” itself gets about 823,000 US searches a month (Google Ads, 12-month average).
