Every month I add up the Google visits to the 21 AI headshot generator sites I track (DataForSEO estimates) and how often people in the US search for them by name (Google Ads). In September 2026 they got about 743,804 visits. Much of the year’s change is one site, PFPMaker; without it, visits are up 22% on a year ago.

The total hides very different stories: one site grew 990% in a year while another lost 91% of its visits. See who grew and who shrank, the visits month by month and the name searches, plus what I expect for October 2026.

1.Are more people visiting AI headshot generator sites than a year ago?

Only because of PFPMaker. The 21 tracked AI headshot generator sites got 743,804 visits from Google search in September 2026. That is 14% fewer visits than in September 2025, or 22% more without PFPMaker, and 8% more visits than in August 2026.

The highest month of the last two years was December 2024, with 1,423,466 visits; September 2026 is 48% below it. In the US, visits were 130,263, about level with a year ago.

Visits are lower than a year ago, but the fall looks like it has stopped: September 2026 was up on August 2026. Name searches (-37%) and Google Trends interest in the term (-63%) fell too, so people are less interested, not just finding these sites less often.

Down 37% on October 2025; 16.2K name searches a month in the US

Fewer than before. People in the US searched Google for the names of the counted AI headshot generator sites 16,230 times in September 2026, 37% fewer searches than in October 2025. Someone who searches a site’s name already knows it, so this is the clearest sign of people coming back on purpose. The term “ai headshot generator” itself gets about 18,100 US searches a month (Google Ads, 12-month average).
