Every month I measure 21 AI headshot generator sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai headshot generator" plus the most-visited AI headshot generator sites overall. In September 2026 they got about 743,804 visits from Google, 14% fewer than a year ago.

Market demand
1Is the AI headshot generator market growing in 2026?
Shrinking, but visits without PFPMaker are up 22% on a year ago.
Over two years, visits went from 1.4M in October 2024 to a high of 1.4M in December 2024, fell to 681K in July 2026, and recovered to 744K in September 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, PFPMaker, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are up and name searches are down, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI headshot generators in 2026?
“ai headshot generator” is searched about 27,100 times a month worldwide, 67% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai headshot generator” until March 2023; interest then climbed to its peak in July 2023. Americans make 67% of the searches but only 17.5% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Indonesia and Philippines.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI headshot generator market in September 2026?
Fewer visits than a year ago only because of PFPMaker, fewer people searching by name, and the next six months look flat.
The fastest growers over the year, HeadshotMaster and Aragon AI, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Try It On AI, lost most of their search visits (-91%).

Huge percentages like HeadshotMaster’s +990% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI headshot generators?
I expect October 2026 to be about the same as September 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. October is usually a busier month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.

PFPMaker alone has 53% of all visits. That’s a big lead, but one Google update can close it fast.
