Every month I add up the Google visits to the 26 AI coding agent sites I track (DataForSEO estimates) and how often people in the US search for them by name (Google Ads). In September 2026 they got about 6.1 million visits. Gemini CLI made most of the move in September 2026: it lost 1,688,311 of the market's 1,792,054 visits; without it, visits to the other sites fell 2.4% on August 2026.

The total hides very different stories: one site grew 620% in a year while another lost 85% of its visits. See who grew and who shrank, the visits month by month and the name searches, plus what I expect for October 2026.

Yes. The 26 tracked AI coding agent sites got 6,056,581 visits from Google search in September 2026. That is 78% more visits than in September 2025, and 23% fewer visits than in August 2026.

The highest month of the last two years was July 2026, with 8,302,459 visits; September 2026 is 27% below it. In the US, visits were 773,385, up 39% on a year ago.

Yes, more than before. People in the US searched Google for the names of the counted AI coding agent sites 399,270 times in September 2026, 41% more searches than in October 2025. Someone who searches a site’s name already knows it, so this is the clearest sign of people coming back on purpose. The term “ai agents for coding” itself gets about 390 US searches a month (Google Ads, 12-month average).
