2How many people visited

In plain words: These sites got fewer visits from Google than a year ago (-28%), and October 2026 was a weaker month than September 2026 (-7%). Duolingo, which takes 73.3% of all the visits, lost more visits on its own than the whole market lost in a year. Without it, visits would be up 64.6% on a year ago instead of down 27.7%. Duolingo lost more visits in October 2026 (1,217,248) than the whole market did (687,066); without it, visits to the other sites rose 29.8% on September 2026.

Miles explains

Judge this line on the year, not the last dot: visits are 28% below a year ago, and 39% below the December 2024 high. One site winning or losing a ranking can swing a single month a lot.

3How many people went looking

People typed a site’s name into Google 2% less often than in October 2025 (-2%). That is the loyalty number: nobody types a name by accident.

US searches a month for the counted brand names, summed. Google Ads data via DataForSEO, to September 2026.

Miles explains

Name searches are the number I trust most. They are about level, and nobody types a site’s name by accident, so this shows more people coming back on purpose.

4Where the visitors live

About 10 of every 100 visits come from the United States. Outside the US I measure 7 countries one by one; the largest is India.

Miles explains

The US is the biggest single market, but only about 10 in every 100 visits. India alone is 52.6% of the countries measured outside it.

5The most-visited sites

Duolingo gets the most visits, Duolingo is the name people search for most, and AI Tutor is the highest-placed tracked site on Google for “ai tutor”, at position 13. The five most-visited sites take 99.2% of all visits.

By worldwide search visits

By US brand-name searches

Miles explains

The five most-visited sites take 99.2% of all visits. When one of them gains or loses a big ranking, the whole market total moves with it.

6Who grew and who shrank

The fastest grower in a year was Numerade (Ace) (+355%); the steepest fall was at Khanmigo (-89%). Big swings are usually one site winning or losing one Google ranking.

Declining
