Miles FosterOwner and tester, RankDude
Every month I measure 12 AI tutor sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai tutor" plus the most-visited AI tutor sites overall. In October 2026 they got about 8.6 million visits from Google, 28% fewer than a year ago.

Market demand
1Is the AI tutor market growing in 2026?
Growing, but visits are down 38% since February 2026.
Over two years, visits went from 7.3M in November 2024 to a high of 14M in December 2024, and stand at 8.6M in October 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Duolingo, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are up and name searches are level, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI tutors in 2026?
“ai tutor” is searched about 22,200 times a month worldwide, 30% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai tutor” until May 2024; interest then climbed to its peak in May 2026. Americans make 30% of the searches but only 10.4% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, United Kingdom and Canada.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI tutor market in October 2026?
Fewer visits than a year ago only because of Duolingo, name searches holding steady, and the next six months look flat.
The fastest growers over the year, Numerade (Ace), StudyFetch and Talkpal, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Khanmigo, lost most of their search visits (-89%).

Huge percentages like Numerade (Ace)’s +355% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI tutors?
I expect November 2026 to be about the same as October 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. November is usually a busier month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.

Duolingo alone has 73% of all visits. That’s a big lead, but one Google update can close it fast.
Download the data
6Can I download the AI tutor data?
Yes. Every number on these pages comes from two CSV files, free to download.
sites.csv has one row per site: its Google US position for “ai tutor”, Tranco rank, Chrome UX tier, visits from Google worldwide and in the US, name searches, Domain Rating and referring domains, with the month each figure covers. market.csv has the monthly totals across the tracked sites: visits worldwide and in the US, name searches and referring domains. Blanks mean the source had no figure, never zero.
