AI design tool statistics, October 2026
Miles FosterOwner and tester, RankDude
Every month I measure 22 AI design tool sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai design tools" plus the most-visited AI design tool sites overall. In October 2026 they got about 239 million visits from Google, 4% fewer than a year ago.
Below: one short section per statistics page, starting with whether the market is growing. The tools I test are on the AI design tools page.

Market demand
1Is the AI design tool market growing in 2026?
Shrinking.
Over two years, visits went from 130M in November 2024 to a high of 277M in April 2026, fell to 226M in September 2026, and recovered to 239M in October 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Canva, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are down and name searches are level, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI design tools in 2026?
“ai design tools” is searched about 6,600 times a month worldwide, 29% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai design tools” until June 2025; interest then climbed to its peak in March 2026. Americans make 29% of the searches but only 10.2% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Brazil and Canada.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI design tool market in October 2026?
Fewer visits than a year ago, name searches holding steady, and the next six months look flat.
The fastest growers over the year, UX Pilot, Figma and Design.com, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Playground, lost most of their search visits (-99%).

Huge percentages like UX Pilot’s +347% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI design tools?
I expect November 2026 to be about the same as October 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. November is usually a quieter month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.

Canva alone has 93% of all visits. That’s a big lead, but one Google update can close it fast.
