Every month I add up the Google visits to the 68 AI image editor sites I track (DataForSEO estimates) and how often people in the US search for them by name (Google Ads). In September 2026 they got about 122 million visits. Much of the year’s change is one site, remove.bg; without it, visits are down 8% on a year ago.

The total hides very different stories: one site grew 274% in a year while another lost 98% of its visits. See who grew and who shrank, the visits month by month and the name searches, plus what I expect for October 2026.

1.Are more people visiting AI image editor sites than a year ago?

Up 5% on a year ago; about level with August 2026 (-3%)

Only because of remove.bg. The 68 tracked AI image editor sites got 122,079,022 visits from Google search in September 2026. That is 5% more visits than in September 2025, or 8% fewer without remove.bg, and about the same as in August 2026.

The highest month of the last two years was December 2024, with 181,090,676 visits; September 2026 is 33% below it. In the US, visits were 5,205,559, down 16% on a year ago.

More visits than a year ago means new people are still finding AI image editor sites through Google. Most of that growth is one site, remove.bg; without it, visits are down 8% on a year ago.

Down 12% on October 2025; 2.8M name searches a month in the US

Fewer than before. People in the US searched Google for the names of the counted AI image editor sites 2,770,460 times in September 2026, 12% fewer searches than in October 2025. Someone who searches a site’s name already knows it, so this is the clearest sign of people coming back on purpose. The term “ai image editor” itself gets about 201,000 US searches a month (Google Ads, 12-month average).

The five most-visited AI image editor sites get 72.3% of all visits, so one of them winning or losing a big Google ranking moves the whole total. Fastest grower over the year: Evoto, from 80,984 to 303,210 visits (+274%). Steepest fall: Mokker AI, from 53,701 to 1,274 visits (-98%).
