Every month I measure 27 AI document automation sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai document automation" plus the most-visited AI document automation sites overall. In September 2026 they got about 1.5 million visits from Google, 2% more than a year ago.

Market demand
1Is the AI document automation market growing in 2026?
Shrinking.
Over two years, visits went from 5.9M in October 2024 to a high of 5.9M in October 2024, fell to 1.2M in December 2025, and recovered to 1.5M in September 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Klippa (Doxis AI.dp), which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are down and name searches are down, so they agree.
Search trends

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI document automation market in September 2026?
About as many visits than a year ago only because of Klippa (Doxis AI.dp), fewer people searching by name, and the next six months look flat.
The fastest growers over the year, Klippa (Doxis AI.dp), Sirion and Parseur, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Medius, lost most of their search visits (-86%).

Huge percentages like Klippa (Doxis AI.dp)’s +1613% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI document automation?
I expect October 2026 to be about the same as September 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months.

Klippa (Doxis AI.dp) alone has 45% of all visits. That’s a big lead, but one Google update can close it fast.
