AI summarizer statistics, October 2026
Miles FosterOwner and tester, RankDude
Every month I measure 15 AI summarizer sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai summarizer" plus the most-visited AI summarizer sites overall. In October 2026 they got about 57 million visits from Google, 22% more than a year ago.
Below: one short section per statistics page, starting with whether the market is growing. The tools I test are on the AI summarizers page.

Market demand
1Is the AI summarizer market growing in 2026?
Growing, but visits without Claude are down 30% on a year ago.
Over two years, visits went from 23M in November 2024 to a high of 57M in October 2026, and stand at 57M in October 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, Claude, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are down and name searches are up, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI summarizers in 2026?
“ai summarizer” is searched about 40,500 times a month worldwide, 45% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai summarizer” until March 2023; interest then climbed to its peak in October 2024. Americans make 45% of the searches but only 13.5% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, United Kingdom and Canada.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI summarizer market in October 2026?
More visits than a year ago only because of Claude, more people searching by name, and the next six months look flat after a step down.
The fastest growers over the year, Paperguide, Claude and Jotform, grew fastest, mostly from a smaller base. The losers, led by Fellow, lost most of their search visits (-100%).

Huge percentages like Paperguide’s +1200% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI summarizers?
I expect November 2026 to be 5% fewer than October 2026, and the next six months to look down.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. November is usually a busier month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.

Download the data
6Can I download the AI summarizer data?
Yes. Every number on these pages comes from two CSV files, free to download.
sites.csv has one row per site: its Google US position for “ai summarizer”, Tranco rank, Chrome UX tier, visits from Google worldwide and in the US, name searches, Domain Rating and referring domains, with the month each figure covers. market.csv has the monthly totals across the tracked sites: visits worldwide and in the US, name searches and referring domains. Blanks mean the source had no figure, never zero.
