AI code generator statistics, October 2026
Miles FosterOwner and tester, RankDude
Every month I measure 29 AI code generator sites with data from DataForSEO, Google Trends, Tranco and Ahrefs. They are the sites that rank on Google for "ai code generator" plus the most-visited AI code generator sites overall. In October 2026 they got about 251 million visits from Google, 50% more than a year ago.

Market demand
1Is the AI code generator market growing in 2026?
Neither growing nor shrinking, but visits are up 36% over the last six months.
Over two years, visits went from 80M in November 2024 to a high of 251M in October 2026, and stand at 251M in October 2026. Much of the year’s change is one site, OpenAI Codex, which is why I also look at the market without it.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are level and name searches are down, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI code generators in 2026?
“ai code generator” is searched about 14,800 times a month worldwide, 24% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai code generator” until April 2023; interest then climbed to its peak in May 2026. Americans make 24% of the searches but only 8% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Canada and Germany.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI code generator market in October 2026?
More visits than a year ago only because of OpenAI Codex, but fewer people searching by name, and the next six months look uneven, up and then down.
The fastest growers over the year, OpenCode, Kiro and Lovable, each grew several times over, usually from a small base. The losers, led by v0 by Vercel, lost most of their search visits (-93%).

Huge percentages like OpenCode’s +6037% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI code generators?
I expect November 2026 to be 5% more than October 2026, and the next six months to look flat.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward with the seasonal pattern, because that version missed least when tested on past months. November is usually a busier month than average for searches.

Download the data
6Can I download the AI code generator data?
Yes. Every number on these pages comes from two CSV files, free to download.
sites.csv has one row per site: its Google US position for “ai code generator”, Tranco rank, Chrome UX tier, visits from Google worldwide and in the US, name searches, Domain Rating and referring domains, with the month each figure covers. market.csv has the monthly totals across the tracked sites: visits worldwide and in the US, name searches and referring domains. Blanks mean the source had no figure, never zero.
