How safe are the sites each builder makes?
Base44 sites score best, 92 out of 100. Every day I check the sites I built on each builder I review for HTTPS, security settings, and the trackers they load before a visitor agrees to anything.

What is checked, and what it’s worth
The same sites as the page speed test: the café, photographer and shop I build on each builder I review, hosted by the builder. Each site gets a score out of 100, and the builder gets the median of its sites:
| Check | Points | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Valid HTTPS certificate | 25 | The padlock works, so nobody can read or change the page on the way. |
| http:// sends you to https:// | 15 | Someone typing the address without https still gets the safe version. |
| HSTS | 10 | Browsers remember to use HTTPS only, even on public Wi-Fi. |
| Clickjacking protection | 8 | Other sites can't hide this page inside theirs to trick clicks. |
| No content sniffing | 6 | Browsers won't treat a file as something it isn't. |
| Content Security Policy | 6 | Limits which scripts can run, which blunts many attacks. |
| Referrer policy | 3 | Controls what the page tells other sites about where visitors came from. |
| Permissions policy | 2 | Switches off camera, microphone and the like when the site doesn't need them. |
| No trackers before consent | 15 | No advertising or analytics trackers load before a visitor agrees (8 points if trackers load but a cookie banner is shown). |
| Few cookies before consent | 10 | Two cookies or fewer before a visitor does anything (5 points for up to six). |

Privacy is checked by opening each site in a fresh browser and not clicking anything, then counting the cookies set and the advertising or analytics services contacted. A site owner can often change these settings, so this shows what the builder does unless you change it.

Questions
- Which website builder is the most secure?
- Right now Base44, with a median score of 92 out of 100 across the sites checked.
- Do builder sites track visitors before they agree?
- On 0 of 4 builders, at least one checked site loaded advertising or analytics trackers before the visitor clicked anything.
- Is this a full security audit?
- No. It checks what every site on a builder gets by default, from the outside, the same way for every builder. It doesn't try to break in. RankDude never tests sites for weaknesses without permission.
