Two sites ate the AI girlfriend boom. One grew 35 times.

Candy AI and OurDream.ai grabbed most of the new visits, while famous old chatbots quietly faded.

Candy AI's visits from Google jumped about 35 times in a year, to about 592,000 a month. RankDude data shows OurDream.ai grew about 18 times too. Together they took about six in ten of all new visits. But that's not the strange part.

The short version

  • 35x: Candy AI's growth in visits from Google in a year.
  • 18x: OurDream.ai's growth over the same 12 months.
  • 6 in 10: the share of new visits these two took.
  • -95.5%: what Kuki AI, once the famous Mitsuku, lost.

Two sites, one boom

Google sent about 8.5 million visits to AI girlfriend sites in September 2026. These are estimates, not exact counts.

A year earlier it was about 7 million. That's a gain of roughly 1.4 million visits a month, or about 21%.

Now the twist. Candy AI alone added about 575,000 of those. OurDream.ai added about 285,000.

Take those two away and the boom looks much flatter. That's wild.

Candy AI is now the third most visited site, behind SpicyChat and CrushOn AI. OurDream.ai sits sixth.

You can see the full list on the AI girlfriend statistics page.

So is it smooth sailing from here? Not quite.

A bumpy ride

The yearly gain hides a wobbly middle. Visits peaked at about 9.1 million in February 2026.

Then they slid to about 6 million in July. By September they were back to about 8.5 million.

Even Candy AI slipped, down 13% from August. OurDream.ai went the other way, from about 231,000 to about 301,000.

I tested OurDream.ai myself. My OurDream review shows what you really get. I have not tested Candy AI.

And while these two climbed, some famous names were sliding fast.

Where did Kuki go?

Kuki AI lost 95.5% of its visits from Google. You might know it by its old name, Mitsuku.

It won the Loebner Prize five times. That's a contest for the most human-like chatbot.

US searches for its name fell from about 1,900 a month to about 390. Ouch.

It's not alone. Dippy fell 82%. Nomi.ai lost two thirds. Replika lost 58%, and Joyland about half.

My guess? People now want pictures, voice and video, not just chat. That's my reading, not something the data proves.

“Two newcomers grabbed the boom while the old chatbots got left behind.”

How I measured this

These are DataForSEO estimates of monthly visits from Google, worldwide, from September 2025 to September 2026. Name searches are US Google Ads figures to August 2026, and none of this counts people.

Market totals smooth out one-off spikes, but the Candy AI chart shows raw figures. More on my methodology page and DataForSEO page.
