Market demand
1Is the AI website builder market growing in 2026?
Shrinking.
Over two years, visits went from 34M in October 2024 to a high of 34M in October 2024, and stand at 16M in September 2026. Five sites take 81.6% of visits, so one ranking change at the top moves the whole line.

Miles explains
I only call a market growing when visits and name searches agree. Here visits are down and name searches are level, so they don’t agree yet.
Search trends
2How many people search for AI website builders in 2026?
“ai website builder” is searched about 110,000 times a month worldwide, 30% of it in the US.
Google Trends barely registered “ai website builder” until June 2025; interest then climbed to its peak in August 2026. Americans make 30% of the searches but only 25.7% of the visits, because the big sites also draw heavily from India, Indonesia and Canada.

Google Trends shows direction, not volume. Interest is lower than a year ago, and I only trust that when the visits move the same way.
Monthly analysis
3What changed in the AI website builder market in September 2026?
Fewer visits than a year ago, name searches holding steady, and the next six months look like a slide.
The fastest growers over the year, Base44, v0 and Lovable, each grew several times over, usually from a small base. The losers, led by Zarla, lost most of their search visits (-92%).

Huge percentages like Base44’s +4347% usually mean one site won a big Google ranking from a small start. I watch whether it holds the next month.
Monthly forecast
4What happens next for AI website builders?
I expect October 2026 to be about the same as September 2026, and the next six months to look down.
The forecast carries the level of recent months forward, not the trend line, because that version missed least when tested on past months. October is usually a quieter month than average for searches, but the calendar did not improve the forecast, so it is left out.

Wix alone has 35% of all visits. That’s a big lead, but one Google update can close it fast.
