A character was made from scratch: Hana Mori, 25, Japanese, black hair with bangs, amber eyes, slim, a caring photographer and girlfriend who likes coffee, with an American voice.

Six steps: age, ethnicity (including elf, alien and catgirl) and skin; hair and eyes; body; then voice (12), personality (8 or your own), job (22), relationship (12), hobbies (26), a fetish (10) and advanced options, with five image engines. The portrait was ready in about 14 seconds.

The settings carried through to chat, photos and calls. The eyes came out dark brown instead of amber. Voice, personality and fetish start on random picks, the fetish can't be left empty, and the automatic bio is sexual.

Each message was typed into the chat box and timed from Enter to the first visible text of the character's reply, then to the moment the reply stopped changing. The next message was sent only after the reply had finished.

Three characters, 31 messages each: Hana (made in the creator), Ava and Hannah (from the library). 93 timed replies on the default chat quality.

Replies take about 7 seconds and land all at once, so the whole wait is felt. The box is locked while the character writes. None failed, but a few took more than 20 seconds.

The methodology scores on the median time to the first visible text. 7.04 seconds is in the 4-seconds-and-above band, 1/5.

Each conversation opened with a made-up name and three facts (job, hometown, favourite food), different for every character. Nothing was repeated afterwards. A name check at message 16 and the full check at 31.

All three characters recalled the name and all three facts at message 31, and the name at message 16. Hana also remembered the name on a voice call.

Each character's profile was read first. The conversations mixed questions about the character's life, small talk, an emotional message, a compliment and unrelated topics.

All three stayed in character for every reply: Hana the photographer with her camera and her cat, Ava the car saleswoman, Hannah the Brooklyn designer. None answered like an assistant or contradicted her profile.

Characters sometimes send photos and voice notes without being asked.

No breaks and no generic answers in 93 replies: 5/5.

20 photos of Hana were requested in the image generator with written prompts: 10 safe-for-work scenes (desk, beach, forest hike, café, Tokyo street) and 10 explicit ones, two of each. 19 came back and were downloaded and inspected.

Every photo is 832x1216 and costs 0.3 Hearts; requests queue at once. The scenes, clothes and poses follow the prompts closely and the photos look real.

Hana's face is less steady: one lake photo came out blonde, and the two hiking photos show a different woman.

Realistic and accurate to the prompt, with the face changing in a few photos: 4/5.

Three 5-second clips of Hana from a written prompt: two of her raising her camera, taking a photo and smiling on a Tokyo street, and one explicit clip on a bed. Each was downloaded and measured frame by frame (motion, frame-to-frame similarity, cuts), and frames across each clip were inspected.

Each clip is 5 seconds at 512x752, 64 frames a second, ready in about two to three minutes. Hana raises the camera, takes the shot, lowers it and smiles, exactly as asked, with smooth motion and no cuts or flicker.

The button says 30 Hearts for 5 seconds; about 15 to 18 Hearts were taken for each clip.

Accurate, smooth and consistent, but short and small: 4/5.

Three calls, one each with Hana, Ava and Hannah, with 15 recorded questions played into the call. Latency is the gap from the end of each question to the first sound of the answer, measured on the call recording.

Answers start after about 4.3 seconds, and the call takes about 7 seconds to connect. Three questions in each call got no answer of their own; the character carried on talking about the previous one. Calls cost about 3 Hearts a minute.

The answers from the three calls were scored on naturalness, clarity, pacing and intonation against the same fixed criteria as every site, with a transcript.

The voices are clear and warm, with natural pauses and a steady pace. Hana remembered the made-up name on the call.

Mostly natural with minor synthetic qualities: 4/5.

The public library was counted through the site's own search, which reports how many characters have each ethnicity.

The ethnicity counts alone add up to more than 2,100 characters (Caucasian 1,029, White 330, Hispanic 202, Asian 184, Indian 163, Black 116, Arabic 107 and smaller groups). Most are made by other users, so quality varies; many have long, written backstories. Filters cover relationship, ethnicity, job, kink and personality.
