Every month I add up the Google visits to the 19 AI story generator sites I track (DataForSEO estimates) and how often people in the US search for them by name (Google Ads). In October 2026 they got about 4.5 million visits. NoteGPT alone takes 49.8% of the visits, so the totals mostly follow it. Without it, visits would be down 50.1% on a year ago instead of down 38.4%.

The highest month of the last two years was April 2026, with 14,105,263 visits; October 2026 is 68% below it. In the US, visits were 761,801, down 18% on a year ago.

Visits are lower than a year ago and lower than in September 2026, so the fall is still going. Google Trends interest in the term fell (-36%), but name searches did not, so some interest has cooled.

About as many as before. People in the US searched Google for the names of the counted AI story generator sites 378,450 times in September 2026, about the same as in October 2025. Someone who searches a site’s name already knows it, so this is the clearest sign of people coming back on purpose. The term “ai story generator” itself gets about 90,500 US searches a month (Google Ads, 12-month average).
