I tested Adalo, an app builder whose AI, Ada, builds from a brief, on the Builder plan with a Pilates studio booking app: 24 checks on the published web app, 2 access attacks and 12 changes. The first draft could not sign a member in again, only 12 of 24 checks passed before the changes, and 9 of 12 changes worked first try. The owner paid $30 for the first month.
I built one app, from one brief, on the Builder plan. It is Ada's own work, plus five fix prompts, credits added by hand in the admin screen, and twelve changes:

What Is Adalo?
Adalo is a no-code app builder. Its AI builder, Ada, takes a chat: you describe the app, it builds the screens, the database and the log-in, and you change things by typing another message. The same app can be published as a website and as an iOS and Android app.
It has a Free plan, then Builder at $65 a month and Business at $200, with no usage-based charges. I used Builder, which the owner paid for.
How I Tested Adalo
Every number here comes from my own tests and my own monitors. Nothing is estimated or copied, Adalo never saw the review first, and every app builder gets the same brief, checks, changes and attacks. This review is based on nine graded tests. I left one out: payments and emails need your own keys, so that test is not graded.
Adalo has a Free plan with 5 Ada prompts a month, then $65 Builder and $200 Business. The first month of Builder is $30 for a new account. Prices read on 1 November 2026, monthly view. Quarterly billing saves 10% and yearly 20%.

Adalo Cost: What My Test App Really Cost
Here is the number you will ask about first. In total the owner paid $30: the first-month price for a new Builder plan. From the second month it is $65. I could not cancel the plan, so it renews at the full price on 26 November 2026 unless the owner cancels it.

Read from Adalo's billing portal. Adalo shows no AI credit or prompt counter.
Adalo's plan page: Builder at $65 a month.
The pricing page lists "No prompt limit" and "Extra AI credits" on Builder but gives no number or price for the credits. I typed 19 prompts and was never stopped or warned, so you cannot tell what heavier use would cost. I also did not test what 1,000 bookings a month would cost.
Adalo Build Speed: One Brief to a Built App
Ada read my brief for 32 minutes, then asked two questions: who will use the app, and how class times are saved. I answered "Let AI decide" to both. It reported the app built 44 minutes after I pasted the brief, and I published the web version 51 minutes after.
Ada says what it did not build, in its own words.
The first draft did not work. A member could sign up but not sign in again, because no role was saved, and the timetable was empty. It took five fix prompts and almost three hours to reach 12 of the 24 checks.
You would wait almost three hours for half a working app, so the target was never reached.
Adalo Accuracy: Did It Build What I Asked?
Half of it. 12 of 24 checks passed. Six more, the payments and the two emails, need keys that are mine to supply, so I left them out. Sign-up, booking, My bookings, cancelling, the admin's class tools and the Ask the studio form all worked once the fixes were in.
Twelve failed. There is no password reset, no places left on a class, no list of members for the coach and no booking count or file for the admin. Booking used no class credit, and the $95 pass price is not shown. Nothing was invented, apart from two taglines.
The first draft, live: no classes.
The coach screen is a notice. It says "Class rosters are not available yet", with no list and no way to mark a member as attended.
The admin's first screen, before the changes.
Adalo Editing: The Twelve Changes
I ran all twelve changes, one prompt each. Nine worked first time: a phone number, Instructor renamed Coach, dark green and cream, an About page, an instructor filter, a phone layout, an admin-only CSV button, a waiting list and a dark mode toggle that kept every record.
Three did not work. The new capacity for Power Reformer never arrived, and Ada said it could not finish; you would have to ask again. The credit bug I planted was not fixed, and the second email was not built, because Ada said the platform cannot send emails.
Adalo Publishing and Page Speed
Publishing took about three minutes. I pressed Publish web app and the app went live on Adalo's own address, and each republish took two to three minutes. The panel offers a custom domain through a CNAME record, which I did not connect. A Created with Adalo badge shows on every screen on this plan.
The weak spot is speed: the main content took about ten seconds on a simulated phone, and the page weighs 4.1 MB. At phone widths there was no sideways scroll. I made no iOS or Android build.
A review tells you what happened on one day. This tells you what happens every day after. My own monitor opens the app every five minutes for 30 days, from 26 October to 25 November 2026, and records whether it answered and how fast.
Adalo hosts the app, and the plan is still running, so the record should show it online for the full 30 days. If the plan is cancelled or lapses, the record will show what happens to the app.
Both of my attacks were blocked. A member who asks for another member's bookings gets only their own rows, and without a sign-in the request answers 401. A member who tried to delete, change or create classes changed nothing. Adalo's Collections API is a Business feature, so I tested the app's own requests.
The hole is the sign-up form. It asks "I am signing up as" and offers Member, Coach and Admin. I chose Admin with a new account and got the admin screens, with the right to add credits to any member and to add and delete classes.
The sign-up form, with Admin offered to anyone.
Password reset does not exist: the sign-in page says "Password reset by email is not available yet". And after the credit-bug change, a member can set their own class credits to any number.
Adalo Database: Does the Data Survive?
Mostly: four of six data checks passed. Bookings and the Ask the studio form wrote records, and they stayed after 19 republishes, the colour change and the dark mode. You can view and search records in the data panel.
Adalo's data panel at the end of the test.
Two checks failed. When you edit a user in the panel, the change does not stick: the role and class credits come back empty. And the Export CSV button gave me no file.
Adalo Payments and Emails
I did not run payments, because Stripe needs a key that is yours to supply. The six checks that depend on it are left out, and this test is not graded.
Ada says it cannot send emails.
Emails are a different matter. Ada said cannot send emails, so there is no password reset, no booking email and no admin email. After a booking the app says "Your booking is saved, but an email could not be sent."
Adalo Code Export and Ownership
Exporting means downloading your app so it can run somewhere else. I found no export. The Code tab is a viewer: only one small file opens, and every other file shows a lock. A link under it, "Want the code itself? Talk to us", opens an email.
The Code tab: every file except one is locked.
The pricing page says Builder gets "a sample of Ada's code" and Business can view all of it. I did not read the terms, so I cannot say who owns the app you build, and you should check before you pay.
Adalo Support and Cancellation
Adalo's support form needs a reCAPTCHA check, so I emailed support@adalo.com instead. I asked three things: how to cancel the Builder plan, how to stop visitors choosing Admin at sign-up, and how to export my data and code.
The only reply came about 13 hours later, from the Client Happiness Team. It was a standard message saying the inbox is not monitored and asking me to raise a ticket through a web form. It answered none of my three questions.
I could not cancel the plan myself either. The Change Plan screen's Free button only opened a new-app screen, and the Stripe billing portal let me switch between monthly and yearly only. I emailed again to ask for the cancellation in writing. The plan renews at $65 on 26 November 2026.
A support ticket on the same question was answered two minutes after it was raised. The answer said I can change my subscription at any time in my Team and Billing settings and linked a help page. I followed it. The new billing screen's Change Plan and Free button again only opened a new-app screen. The older billing screen loads, but its Change Plan link did nothing when I clicked it, and the help page's own link to the steps was not found. Nothing was cancelled: the screen still shows Builder at $65 with the next payment on 26 November 2026.
Adalo Reviews: What Other Users Say
On Trustpilot, read on 26 October 2026, Adalo scores 3.3 out of 5 from 27 reviews. 37% give five stars and 44% give one. The complaints repeat: being charged after cancelling and refused a refund, a plan that pushes upgrades, and slow help when you cannot reach your account.
Final verdict: is Adalo worth it?
If this were my studio, I would not launch Fitting Room on what Ada built. It looks good and it took most changes well, but the first draft did not work, anyone can make themselves an admin and there is no way to reset a password.
It suits people who want one app for the web and the app stores, and who will fix the sign-up and access rules themselves. It suits you less if the app must work and be secure out of the box, or if you need the code. I could not try payments without your own keys, and Adalo's support answered none of my questions.
The nine graded tests average 2.2 out of 5, and I rate Adalo 2.2. Export, build speed and support are the lowest grades, and changes is the highest, because nine of twelve worked first time.
The whole test in about seven minutes: one brief to a published app, 24 checks, two attacks, twelve changes and why anyone can sign up as admin. Captions and the full transcript are one click away.

Hey, I'm Miles, and this is RankDude, where I test AI tools hands on and publish every number, so you can decide before you pay. Today it's Adalo, a no-code app builder with an AI builder called Ada, which writes an app from a chat. I tested the Builder plan, with one brief for a Pilates booking app called Fitting Room. The short version is that Ada wrote a good-looking app, and was honest about what it could not build. But the first draft could not sign a member in again, and only twelve of twenty-four checks passed. Any visitor can choose Admin at sign-up, there is no code download, and Adalo's support answered none of my questions. My rating is two point two out of five, from nine graded tests.
So, what is Adalo? It's a no-code app builder. Ada, its AI builder, sits in the editor. You describe the app in a chat, and it builds the screens, the database and the log-in. To change anything, you type another message. The same app can be published as a website and in the app stores. There is a free plan with five Ada prompts a month. The Builder plan is sixty-five dollars a month, with no limit on prompts. The owner paid thirty dollars for the first month.
Every builder I review gets the same brief, word for word. Fitting Room is a booking and membership app for a small Pilates studio, with a timetable, members who book, coaches, an admin, and a ninety-five dollar five-class pass. Ada read it for thirty-two minutes, then asked two questions. I let it decide. It reported the app built forty-four minutes after I started, and I published the web version at fifty-one minutes. But the first draft did not work. A member could sign up, but not sign in again, and the timetable was empty. So the build earns a one.
Now accuracy. Twelve of twenty-four checks passed. Six more, the payments and the two emails, need keys that are mine to supply, so I left them out. It took five fix prompts to get here. Booking, cancelling and the admin's class tools worked. Here is the member timetable. Twelve checks failed. There is no password reset, no places left on a class, and booking does not use a class credit. The coach screen only says that class rosters are not available. Accuracy scores two.
Log-in, and the two attacks. Attack one. I'm a member, and I ask for another member's bookings. Blocked, only my own rows came back. Attack two. As a member, I try to delete or change classes. Blocked, nothing changed. But look at the sign-up form. It asks, I am signing up as, and offers Member, Coach and Admin. Any visitor can choose Admin. I did, and I could add credits to any member, and add and delete classes. And there is no password reset at all. That scores two.
Next, the data. Four of six checks passed. Bookings and the Ask the studio form wrote records, and they stayed through nineteen republishes, the colour change and the dark mode. But editing a user in the data panel did not stick, and the export button gave me no file. Three out of five.
Payments and emails. I did not run payments, because Stripe needs a key that is yours to supply. And Ada said it cannot send emails at all. So there is no password reset, no booking email and no admin email. This test is not graded.
Then the twelve changes, one prompt each. I ran all twelve. Nine worked first time. A phone number, instructor renamed coach, dark green and cream, an About page, an instructor filter, a phone layout, an admin-only export, a waiting list, and a dark mode toggle that kept every record. Three did not. The new capacity never arrived. The credit bug I planted was not fixed. And the second email was not built. That scores four.
Publishing. I pressed Publish web app, and about three minutes later the app was live on Adalo's own address. I did not connect my own domain. The weak spot is speed. On a simulated phone the start page scored fifty-three out of a hundred, and the main content took about ten seconds to appear. That earns a three.
Can you take the app with you? I looked in the code tab, the publish panel and the data panel. There is no export. The code tab only opens one small file. Every other file is locked. This test scores one, the lowest grade.
Support and cancelling. The support form needs a reCAPTCHA check, so I emailed Adalo three questions: how to cancel, how to stop people choosing admin at sign-up, and how to export. The only reply came about thirteen hours later. It said the inbox is not monitored, sent me to a web form, and answered none of the questions. Support scores one. I also could not find a way to cancel the plan myself. The change plan screen only started a new app, and I have asked again, in writing.
What did it cost? The owner paid thirty dollars for the first month. After that it is sixty-five dollars a month. There is no credit meter. I typed nineteen prompts, and was never stopped or warned. So I can't tell you what heavier use would cost.
Pricing. Adalo has a free plan, then Builder at sixty-five dollars a month and Business at two hundred. Billed yearly, they are lower. The pricing page says there are no usage-based charges. The price is flat and clear, but there is no usage meter, so pricing scores three.
So, my verdict. Ada wrote a good-looking app and took most changes well. But the first draft did not work, anyone can make themselves an admin, the code cannot be downloaded, and support answered none of my questions. My rating is two point two out of five, the average of nine tests. Export, build speed and support are the lowest grades, and changes is the highest. It suits people who want one app for the web and the app stores, and will fix the sign-up rules themselves. It suits you less if the app must work and be secure out of the box. Every measurement, every screenshot and every price is in the written review and the test results, linked below.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Adalo cost, and is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 5 Ada prompts a month and unlimited test apps. Builder is $65 a month and Business $200. The owner paid $30 for the first month of Builder.
Is Adalo legit and safe?
Not safe. It built and published a working app, and a member could not read other members' bookings. But any visitor could sign up as an admin, and there is no password reset. I did not read the terms.
Can I download my Adalo code?
No. The Code tab opens one small file and locks the rest, and the pricing page says Business can view all of the code. There is no download. A link in the tab opens an email to ask for the code.
Does Adalo have a mobile app?
Yes. The same app can be published to iOS, Android and the web. I published the web version only and made no store build.
How do I cancel Adalo?
I could not. Support's ticket answer says to use Change Plan in the Team and Billing settings. I tried that on both billing screens: the Free button only opened a new-app screen, and the older screen's Change Plan link did nothing. The billing portal offered monthly or yearly only. The plan renews at the full price on 26 November 2026.
How did Adalo score, and what was not tested?
Low. Payments and emails need your own keys, so they are not graded. Support is graded 1: the one reply came 13 hours later and answered none of my three questions.
Disclosure. I tested on a Adalo plan RankDude paid for at the public price. Adalo didn’t see this review first and had no say in my rating. How RankDude makes money is on the disclosure page.
