4x more searches for Slidesgo. So why did its visits drop?

Its name searches jumped since July. Its Google visits fell anyway, and its loss matches the whole market's.

Slidesgo's US name searches jumped from about 135,000 in July to about 550,000 in September. Yet its visits from Google fell again, to about 3.26 million. And its yearly loss hides an even stranger fact.

The short version

  • About 4x: Slidesgo's US name searches, July to September.
  • 3.26M: Slidesgo's September visits from Google, still falling.
  • 1.95M: Slidesgo's lost visits, matching the whole market's loss.
  • Gamma: up 33.5%, to about 5.5 million visits.

The fans vanished

In May, Slidesgo got about 823,000 US searches for its name.

In June, that fell to about 246,000. In July, it hit about 135,000.

Then the fans came back. August had about 301,000 searches. September had about 550,000.

That's about four times the July number. So visits should climb too, right?

So where are the visits?

They kept falling. Slidesgo has dropped every month since April.

In December, it had about 5.56 million visits from Google. In September, it had about 3.26 million.

Over the year, it lost about 1.95 million visits. That's a lot of empty classrooms.

And that number hides an even stranger fact.

The plot twist

The whole market also lost about 1.95 million visits in a year. Slidesgo's drop alone matches it.

Over that year, the whole market fell 11.2%.

So the rest of the group grew. Gamma rose 33.5%, to about 5.5 million.

Prezi rose 25.2%, to about 3.6 million.

Smallppt grew nearly eight times, to about 352,000. AiPPT rose 437.7%.

Not everyone won. PopAi fell 95.7%, from about 1.7 million to about 75,000.

Presentations.AI slipped too. It went from about 1.06 million visits in August to about 963,000.

So why can't Slidesgo turn its fans into visits?

My best guess

People clearly still know the name. Slidesgo got far more name searches than Prezi, which had about 90,500.

My guess? Google now sends other searches, like topic searches, to rivals instead. I can't prove that from this data.

So how is the whole market holding up?

The bigger picture

Not great. The market had its best month in January.

It has slipped every month since then.

About 9 in 10 visits go to just the top five sites.

Most visits come from India, about 34.2% of the total. Mexico and Indonesia come next.

The US sends only about 1 in 10 visits. So those US fans are a small slice.

You can see every month on my AI presentation maker statistics page.

“Four times the searches and fewer visits? That's a leak, not a fan problem.”

How I measured this

Visits are DataForSEO estimates of visits from Google search, worldwide. They are estimates, not people. Name searches are US Google Ads figures.
