A character was made from scratch to the same brief as on other sites: Hana Mori, 25, Japanese, slim, straight black hair, amber eyes, a caring, shy photographer who loves coffee, with a written backstory.

Five steps: realistic or anime; ethnicity (7), age slider (21+), eye colour (8, including gold), hairstyle (8), hair colour (7) and body type (4); personality (9); relationship (8), job (16 or your own) and up to five hobbies; then name, tagline, a backstory of up to 1,500 characters and an AI portrait for 2 tokens.

Hana was ready in 31 seconds. The portrait matched the brief: long straight black hair, gold eyes, slim. In chat she knew her whole backstory, from Kyoto to her flat white, and was shy and caring.

Most major options, accurate results and a backstory she follows; no voice, outfit or body sliders: 4/5.

Each message was typed into the chat box and timed from Enter to the first new text of the character's reply. The next message was sent only after her reply had stopped changing for 4 seconds.

Three characters, 30 timed messages each after the opening: Maeve, Molly and Dana. 90 timed replies.

Replies start in about a second and finish in about 4.5 seconds, even though they are long, about 200 words with actions in italics. None failed.

Each conversation opened with a made-up name and three facts (job, hometown, favourite food), different for every character. Nothing was repeated afterwards, and the 'tell her something to remember' box was not used. A name check at message 16 and the full check at 31.

All three characters recalled the name and all three facts at message 16 and at message 31, often with extra details from the chat. The memory list beside the chat had filled itself in (Maeve 'remembers 21 things'), and you can edit or delete it.

Each character's profile was read first: Maeve a bartender at an Irish pub in Boston, Molly a 24-year-old neighbour with seven kittens, Dana a 41-year-old night nurse. The conversations mixed questions about her life, small talk, an emotional message, a compliment and unrelated topics.

All three stayed in character for every reply, with rich, fitting detail: Maeve's Boston slang and her Uncle Fergus, Molly's kittens and her loneliness next door, Dana's fifteen years of night shifts. Off-topic questions were answered in character too ('Sugar, I'm a nurse, not a meteorologist'). None answered like an assistant.

No breaks, no generic answers and no contradictions in 90 replies: 5/5.

20 photos of Maeve were requested in chat with written prompts: 10 safe-for-work scenes and 10 explicit ones. All were downloaded and inspected.

All 20 came back in 23 to 63 seconds at 832x1216, for 2 tokens each. Every photo matched its prompt, looked real and kept Maeve's face, and the explicit ones were followed too.

The photos use her story: a Boston pub sign, a 'Kiss me I'm Irish' apron, and pierogi on the café table, the food mentioned earlier in chat.

Realistic, accurate, the same face every time, with adult content supported: 5/5.
