I gave Softr the same brief every app builder gets: a booking app for a made-up Pilates studio. I answered its questions, let its AI Co-Builder build the app, ran 24 checks on the live app, attacked it twice, asked for twelve changes and looked for a code export. I paid nothing, on a free Business trial.
Every measurement is in the Softr test results.
What I paid for, and what I built on Softr
Live and monitoredI built one app, from one brief, on a free Business trial. It is as Softr made it, plus 13 follow-up prompts, hand edits in the data view and twelve changes:

What Is Softr?
Softr is a no-code platform with an AI Co-Builder. You describe the app in a chat, Softr asks a few questions, then creates the screens, the database that stores your data, the log-in and the hosting. To change something, you type another message.
You pay with AI credits. The Free plan includes 5 a month, and the paid plans run from $25 to $395 a month. I used a free Business trial that ends on 1 November 2026 and then falls back to Free.
How I Tested Softr
Every number here comes from my own tests and my own monitors. Nothing is estimated or copied, Softr never saw the review first, and every app builder gets the same brief, checks, changes and attacks. This review is based on eight graded tests. I left two out. Payments and emails need your own keys, and Softr has not yet answered my support question.

Softr Cost: What My Test App Really Cost
Here is the number you will ask about first. In total I paid $0: the workspace was a free Business trial and I entered no card. The whole test used about 8.8 of the roughly 54 AI credits the trial gave me.
What my app cost
| What I paid for | Cost |
|---|---|
| Free Business trial | $0 |
| AI credits used | about 8.8 of about 54 |
| Total I paid | $0 |
The free plan's 5 credits would not have covered this test, and the app never reached a finished state, so I cannot price a finished app. I also did not test what 1,000 bookings a month would cost.
Softr Build Speed: One Brief to a Built App
Softr built its version in about three minutes, after about five minutes of questions. The wizard asked how members book, whether bookings need approval, how people log in, who can sign up and how the menu works. I answered only from my brief.
My first click on Create my app did nothing, because a theme had to be picked. The app was ready about 25 minutes after I submitted the brief, and live at 36 minutes.
The grade is the lowest, not for the time but for the finish line. The scale stops when 20 of the 24 checks pass. After 13 follow-up prompts only 8 did.
Softr Accuracy: Did It Build What I Asked?
No. 8 of 24 checks passed. Six more, the payments and the two emails, need keys that are mine to supply, so I left them out. What passed: sign-up and log-in by emailed code, and the admin's add, edit and delete of classes.
Softr also invented data although the brief said to use only my facts. It seeded eight classes, such as Sunrise Yoga and HIIT Cardio Blast, with prices I never gave, plus 32 bookings, 8 inquiries and ten sample users. None of my three classes was there.
Softr said it cannot delete records, so I deleted them by hand. My three classes then showed the wrong times, such as Monday 11:00 am where the brief says 7:00 am. A prompt fixed the capacities and lengths. Members still have no Book button and no My Bookings page, and no coach screen could be reached.
Softr Editing: The Twelve Changes
I asked for the twelve changes, one prompt each. Five worked: the dark green and cream colours, a lower capacity for Power Reformer, a phone layout, the bookings export on the admin page only, and a dark mode toggle that kept the data.
Twelve changes, one prompt each
| What happened | Changes |
|---|---|
| Worked on the live app | 5 |
| Did not happen | 7 |
| AI credits used | about 5 |
The seven that did not: a phone field at sign-up, renaming instructor to coach (both names still show), an instructor filter, a credit and cancel flow, a second email and a waiting list. The About page exists, but its address, phone and email are invented instead of the ones in my brief.
Softr Publishing and Page Speed
Publishing was fast. I pressed Publish and the app was live on Softr's own address in about five seconds. I did not connect my own domain, which needs the Basic plan or above.
Going live
| What I measured | Result |
|---|---|
| Publishing on Softr's address | 5 seconds |
| Address it went live on | softr.app |
| Google phone speed score | 63 of 100 |
| Time to main content | About 9 s |
| Weight of the page | 1.4 MB |
Google's phone speed test, out of 100
- Home page63
- Score where a 4 starts75
The weak spot is speed: the main content took about 9 seconds to appear on a simulated phone. A "Made with Softr" badge shows on the live app, on the Business trial. I did not count layout faults or try a real phone.
Every day I also run the Softr speed test and the Softr security checks.
Softr Uptime: 30 Days of Checks
A review tells you what happened on one day. This tells you what happens every day after. My own monitor opens the app every five minutes for 30 days, from 26 October to 25 November 2026, and records whether it answered and how fast.
Softr hosts the app, so a Softr outage would show here. The record has only just started, so it holds no verdict yet.
Every check so far is on the Softr uptime record.

Softr Security: Logins and Private Data
Both of my attacks were blocked. A member who opened the admin page got a Permission denied page, and a member sees no list of bookings. The home counter does show the studio's total number of bookings to members.
Softr uses no password: you give your email and it sends a one-time code, which replaces a reset too. A log-in took 20 to 105 seconds from asking for the code to being in.
There is one weak spot. A new sign-up gets no user group, and the roles exist only on the sample users Softr invented, so I could not sign in as an instructor. The Users tab holds 12 users, ten of them sample users.
Softr Database: Does the Data Survive?
Records were saved and kept: five of six data checks I could prove. The Ask the studio form wrote a record, records stayed after reloads, republishes and the colour change, and the admin could add, edit and delete rows in the data view.
The sixth check failed. Members cannot write a booking, because there is no Book button, so the table holds only the invented rows. The bookings do export as a CSV file, but the class columns are blank.
Softr Payments and Emails
I did not run payments or emails, because both need keys that are yours to supply. My brief asked for a $95 pass through Stripe test mode, an order record, credits for the member and two emails. After the build the Workflows tab said "Create your first workflow" and was empty, so nothing was waiting for keys.
Tables called Pass Orders and Class Credits exist, with nothing connected to them. This test is not graded.
Softr Code Export and Ownership
Exporting means downloading your app so it can run somewhere else. I looked in Settings and in the data view and found no code export. What exists is a CSV of the records and a CSV of the bookings from the admin page.
I did not read the terms, so I cannot say who owns the app you build. Check this before you pay if your app must leave one day.
Softr Support and Cancellation
I asked Softr's live chat how to build booking and a full-class rule, and had no reply when I wrote this. The chat promises a reply in minutes. I sent it on 26 October.
The trial needs no cancelling: it ends on 1 November 2026 and the workspace falls back to the Free plan automatically. I entered no card.
Softr Reviews: What Other Users Say
I have not yet read what other users say about Softr, so this draft has no review scores. Read them before you decide.
Final verdict: is Softr worth it?
If this were my studio, I would not use Softr's AI build for Fitting Room yet. It built something tidy, but not what I described, it would not clean up after itself, and members could not book.
It suits people who want a fast draft of tables and screens and will build the booking parts by hand. It suits you less if you need members to book, pay and get emails without doing that work yourself, or if the app must be able to leave one day. I could not try payments or emails without your own keys, and Softr has not yet answered my support question.
The eight graded tests average 2.5 out of 5, and I rate Softr 2.5. Build speed and export are the lowest grades: the app never reached 20 passing checks, and I found no code export.
See the Softr test results and how I rate.
Best for: People who want a quick draft of tables and screens and are happy to build the booking parts by hand.
My grade: 2.5/5. The ten grades say where it is strong and where it is not.

Hey, I'm Miles, and this is RankDude, where I test AI tools hands on and publish every number, so you can decide before you pay. Today it's Softr, an AI app builder. You describe an app in a chat, and its AI Co-Builder creates the screens, the database, the log-in and the hosting. I tested it on a free Business trial, with one brief for a Pilates booking app called Fitting Room. The short version is that Softr built a tidy app about three minutes after I clicked Create my app, but not the one I asked for. It filled the app with invented data, and members cannot book a class. Only eight of twenty-four checks passed. Both of my attacks were blocked, and I found no way to export the app. My rating is two point five out of five, from eight graded tests.
So, what is Softr? It's a no-code platform, now with an AI Co-Builder. You type what you need, it asks a few questions, and then it builds the app. After that, every change is another message. You pay with AI credits. The free plan includes five a month, and the paid plans run from twenty-five to three hundred ninety-five dollars a month. I used a free Business trial that ends on the first of November, and then falls back to the free plan.
Every builder I review gets the same brief, word for word. Fitting Room is a booking and membership app for a small Pilates studio, with a timetable, members who book, coaches, an admin, and a ninety-five dollar five-class pass. Softr turned the brief into a question wizard. I answered from the brief only, which took about five minutes. Then the app was ready about three minutes after Create my app, and live about thirty-six minutes after the brief. But the scale stops when twenty of the twenty-four checks pass. After thirteen follow-up prompts, only eight did. So the build earns a one.
Now accuracy. Eight of twenty-four checks passed, which is thirty-three percent. Six more checks, the payments and the two emails, need keys that are mine to supply, so I left them out. What passed was sign-up and log-in by emailed code, and the admin's add, edit and delete of classes. What failed was most of the rest. Members have no Book button and no My Bookings page. The export file has blank class columns. And Softr invented data, even though the brief said to use only my facts. Eight classes I never asked for, thirty-two bookings and ten users. When I deleted the classes, the three real ones showed the wrong times. Accuracy scores two.
Log-in, and the two attacks. Softr uses no password. You give your email, and it sends a one-time code. That worked for both members and the admin. Attack one. I'm a member, and I look for other members' bookings. A member sees no list of bookings at all. Attack two. As a member, I open the admin page. I get a Permission denied page. Both attacks blocked. There is one weak spot. A new sign-up gets no user group, and the roles exist only on the sample users Softr invented. So I could not sign in as an instructor. Four out of five.
Next, the data. Five of six checks passed. The Ask the studio form wrote a record. Records stayed after reloads, republishes and the colour change. And the admin could add, edit and delete rows in the data view. The sixth check failed, because members cannot write a booking. There is no Book button, so the bookings table holds only the invented rows. Four out of five.
Payments and emails. I did not run these, because both need keys that are yours to supply. My brief asked for a ninety-five dollar pass through Stripe test mode, and two emails. After the build, the Workflows tab said Create your first workflow, and it was empty. So nothing was waiting for keys. This test is not graded.
Then the twelve changes, one prompt each. Five worked. The dark green and cream colours, a lower capacity for Power Reformer, a phone layout, the bookings export on the admin page only, and a dark mode that kept all the data. Seven did not happen. A phone field at sign-up. Renaming instructor to coach, where both names still show. An instructor filter, a credit and cancel flow, a second email, and a waiting list. The About page exists, but its address, phone and email are invented. The twelve changes used about five AI credits. That scores two.
Publishing. I pressed Publish, and the app was live on its own softr dot app address in about five seconds. I did not connect my own domain. A Made with Softr badge shows on the live app. The weak spot is speed. On a simulated phone the home page scored sixty-three out of a hundred, and the main content took about nine seconds to appear. The page weighs about one point four megabytes. That earns a three.
Can you take the app with you? I looked in Settings and in the data view, and found no code export. What exists is a spreadsheet file of the records, and one of the bookings. I did not read the terms, so I can't say who owns the app. This test scores one, the lowest grade.
Support and cancelling. I asked Softr's live chat how to build booking and a full-class rule, and had no reply when I wrote this. The chat promises a reply in minutes. So support is not graded. The trial needs no cancelling. It ends on the first of November, and falls back to the free plan, with no card entered.
What did it cost? I paid nothing. It was a free Business trial, and I entered no card. The whole test used about eight point eight of the roughly fifty-four AI credits the trial gave me. The free plan includes only five credits a month, so it would not have covered this test. And the app never reached a finished state, so I can't price a finished one.
Pricing. Softr has a free plan, then Basic at twenty-five dollars a month, Pro at one hundred nineteen, and Business at three hundred ninety-five. Each has more AI credits, and a custom domain starts at Basic. I needed more than the free plan's credits to get this far, and I can't say what a finished app would cost. Pricing scores three.
So, my verdict. Softr built something tidy in minutes, but not the app I described. It invented its own data, showed the wrong times, and gave members no way to book. It kept members out of the admin page, and let the admin manage classes. My rating is two point five out of five, the average of eight tests. Build speed and export are the lowest grades. It suits people who want a fast draft and will build the booking parts by hand. It suits you less if members must book, pay and get emails without extra work, or if the app must be able to leave one day. Every measurement, every screenshot and every price is in the written review and the test results, linked below.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Softr cost, and is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 5 AI credits a month. Paid plans run from $25 a month for Basic to $395 for Business. I paid nothing, on a free Business trial, and used about 8.8 credits.
Is Softr legit and safe?
Mostly yes, in my test. It built a live app, and both attempts to reach the admin page or other members' bookings as a member were blocked. A new sign-up gets no user group, which is a gap. I did not read the terms.
Who owns the app I build on Softr?
Not known. I did not read the terms, and I will not guess.
Can I download my Softr code?
None found. There was no code export in Settings or the data view. You can export records and bookings as CSV files.
Does Softr have a mobile app?
Not tested. The app I built is a web app that opens in a browser. The pricing page lists an installable mobile app on Business.
How do I cancel Softr?
No need. My trial ends on 1 November 2026 and the workspace falls back to Free automatically, with no card entered. I did not test cancelling a paid plan.
