Fantaly Review: Features, Pricing & My Test Results

My rating
Live video that moves and does what you ask, cheaply. Memory fades in long chats.
Best for: live video where you watch a character move and react, at a low weekly price. Not for long, detailed roleplay.

Based on 10 graded tests and my verdict. How I rate
I tested Fantaly, an AI girlfriend app, with 93 timed messages to 3 characters, 3 memory tests, 3 voice calls, 13 requests on live video and 20 images. The live video moved and did what I asked, replies came in about 1.7 seconds, and only 1 of 3 characters remembered everything after 31 messages. Calls answered in about 4 seconds. Everything I measured is in the Fantaly test results.

What Is Fantaly?
Fantaly (fantaly.ai) is all about the Live Cam. You pick a character, press Start, and a live video of her appears. You type or talk, and she answers out loud while her words show up in the chat.
Each Live Cam lasts 5 minutes. Then you start a new one and the chat carries on where it stopped. Your own camera stays off.
It's an adult site. Many characters are flirty, and the video follows adult requests.

Without a pass, a minute costs about 25 to 30 cents, which adds up. Images are cheap at 5 credits. You can pay by PayPal, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Creating a Character on Fantaly
- Making your own
- 2/5Below average
You make the look, then give her a name and a written background. For the look, pick a free starter, use the guided options, or write your own description. There's also an editor to change her outfit or background.
Building Yuki, step by step
I made three characters. Yuki, an anime ice mage, took the guided route: a few menus and a short note.
The menus are short: 2 styles, 9 hairstyles, 19 outfits, 21 settings and 4 moods, mostly date-night and bedroom choices. There are no choices for voice, age or body. The details are in the customization test results.
The result
The looks matched what I asked for. Each was ready in about 8 seconds: Yuki's silver braid and winter cloak, Maeve's red hair and navy sweater.
But the background I wrote was ignored. I made Maeve a librarian in Galway with a cat called Yeats. On camera she said she was 'a freelance designer from Dublin' with a cat called Finn. Jade and Yuki also became freelance designers. Only the name and the look stuck.
Fantaly Chat: Speed, Memory & Personality
- Reply speed
- 3/5Average
- Memory
- 3/5Average
- Staying in character
- 3/5Average
Replies start fast: about 1.7 seconds for most of my 93 messages. None failed.
Memory is patchy. I told each character a made-up name and three things about me. All three knew my name after 16 messages. After 31, Barbara remembered everything, Elsa only my name, and Aria nothing at all.
The characters never sound like a robot assistant, but they all drift into the same sweet tone. Elsa is meant to be a cold, strict boss, yet she was warm from her first line. Barbara, an immortal empress, said she'd ruled for 'just five years'.
If you stop typing, she keeps talking with little dreamy lines of her own. It's sweet for a minute, then it gets repetitive.
The timings and quotes are in the chat test results.
Fantaly Live Video & Images
- Photos
- 4/5Good
- Videos
- 4/5Good
The live video feels alive. She smiles, laughs, tilts her head, closes her eyes and reaches toward the camera, and the movement is smooth. Images are made in the creator, for a character's look.
She does what you ask. I made 13 requests, and she acted out 10: a wave, a kiss, a stretch, a wink, putting her hair in a bun and more. She couldn't stand up and twirl or look sad, even though she said yes in the chat.
The video is small (480x640), and an arm close to the camera blurs a little.
The images are quick and realistic. All 20 of mine came back in about 8 to 12 seconds and matched the prompt. But each one is a new look, so the face changes every time.
The frame-by-frame numbers are in the video test results.
Fantaly Voice
- Call speed
- 2/5Below average
- Voice quality
- 4/5Good
I asked Aria, Elsa and Barbara the same 15 questions. Every question was understood correctly. They started answering in about 4 seconds, partly because Fantaly waits for you to pause.
The voices sound natural: clear, warm and calm. Listen for yourself:

You tap the microphone, talk and pause, and Fantaly sends what you said. You have to do that before each message, so it feels less like a phone call.

Fantaly Characters
- Choice of characters
- 5/5Excellent
There are 1,568 public characters: 1,028 women, 358 anime and 182 men, made by about 400 people. Each one comes with a short story, from roommates and bosses to empresses and wolf girls.
Quality varies, because users make them. About 150 are family set-ups, like step-sisters and cousins. There's no search: you browse by tab and sort by popular or newest.
Additional Features
- Chat history: kept between Live Cams, with a button to clear it.
- Private or public: share the characters you make, or keep them to yourself.
- The scene can change: in one Live Cam, Aria's room had become the seaside cottage we'd talked about.
- No feed and no gifts: everything happens in the Live Cam.
Final verdict: is Fantaly worth it?
Fantaly's live video is the draw: a real-looking character who moves, laughs and does what you ask, with replies in under two seconds.
The chat behind the face is weaker. Memory slips in long chats, the characters sound alike, and your own character's story doesn't stick. The 7-day pass is a cheap way to see if live video is for you.
Every number and screenshot is in the full test results, and you can see how it compares on my list of AI girlfriend platforms.
Best for: People who want to see and hear a character move and react, at a low weekly price. Not for long, detailed roleplay.

Hey, I'm Miles, and this is RankDude, where I test AI tools hands on and rank them by category. Today it's Fantaly, from the AI girlfriend category. Quick word on scoring. Every app gets the same ten tests, each one graded from one to five, and the average plus my own take becomes the final score. Fantaly landed on a three point six out of five. Fantaly is different: your character talks to you on live video. The video is lively and the replies are fast, but memory is patchy over a long chat. Here's why. Let's open it up.
So this is the home page. Fantaly has more than fifteen hundred public characters, women, anime and men, made by about four hundred creators. Every one of them can start a Live Cam. Before we meet anyone, let's look at what it costs.
There's no subscription. A seven day pass is nine ninety nine and an annual pass is a hundred and ninety nine ninety nine, each with an hour of Live Cam a day. Otherwise a Live Cam costs thirty credits a minute, about twenty five to thirty cents, and messages are included. You can pay with PayPal, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. I'm testing on an account the Fantaly team set up for me, so I couldn't check cancelling or refunds. Okay, that's the money side. Let's look at the creator.
The creator is quick. Pick a free starter look, or make one with AI from a guided list or your own prompt, then give her a name and a background. The looks come out accurate. The problem is the background you write. On my first test it was ignored: three different characters all said they were freelance designers, whatever story I gave them. So the creator gets a two. Now let's meet someone on camera.
This is a Live Cam with Aria. A moving video of her answers out loud while I type. I'll introduce myself, ask her to wave, and then check if she remembers. The timer shows how long each reply takes. Have a look. The first reply took a while today, about ten seconds, but she waved and blew a kiss in under two. And when I asked, she remembered all of it: Marcus, an architect from Denver who loves sushi. In my full test the typical reply started in about one point seven seconds, and she acted out ten of my thirteen requests. Over a long chat, memory was patchy, though: after thirty one messages one character remembered everything, one only my name, and one nothing. And they all slid into the same sweet tone. So video gets a four, reply speed a three, memory a three and staying in character a three. Next, images.
Images on Fantaly are for character looks, not photos in chat. They cost five credits and came back in eight to twelve seconds, and all twenty of mine followed the prompt and looked real. Each one is a new look, though, so there's no way to keep one face. Images get a four. Here are some of the requests she acted out on camera in my first test.
You can also talk instead of typing, with a tap to talk microphone. Here are two spoken answers from my first test. The voices are clear and warm, with lively pitch. Spoken answers took about four seconds to start, partly because Fantaly waits for a pause before it sends what you said. Voice quality gets a four, voice speed a two. Okay, let's wrap this up.
So, where does that leave Fantaly? If you want to see and hear a character move and react, it feels genuinely alive, with fast replies, more than fifteen hundred characters, and a week for nine ninety nine with no subscription. The catches are memory over long chats, characters who all sound alike, and a creator that ignores your story. It's a three point six out of five. Every test, every number, and every screenshot is on RankDude, in the full review and on the test results page. And one last thing about RankDude. This isn't just one review. For every category we cover, we track all the tools out there, we gather the statistics, we test them the same way, and we keep monitoring them over time. The idea is a clear picture of a whole category, not just one product, and to set the standard for how this kind of data gets collected. The links are in the description. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next one.
