AI Angels Review: Features, Pricing & My Test Results

My rating
Chat that remembers you and stays in character. Replies are slow and the free photos show someone else.
Best for: chatting and voice calls with a character who remembers you. Not for photos and videos.

Tested and written by Miles Foster
Based on 10 graded tests and my verdict. How I rate
I tested AI Angels, an AI girlfriend app, hands-on: 64 messages to 3 characters, a voice call, 3 characters built in its creator, and photos and a video. The characters remembered everything I told them and slipped out of character only twice, replies took about 3.5 seconds, and the free photos and video showed a different woman from the one I built. Everything I measured is in the AI Angels test results.

What Is AI Angels?
AI Angels (aiangels.io) is an AI girlfriend website. You pick one of hundreds of ready-made characters, or make your own, then chat, call or ask for photos and videos.
Chat is unlimited on paid plans. Everything else is paid for with credits.
It's an adult site. The characters are realistic women and the photos lean explicit, so I've blurred the screenshots where needed.

Renewal: the monthly plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. Diamond is a one-off payment. My paid plan came from the AI Angels team, so I couldn't test cancelling or refunds.
Is it worth it?
For chat and calls, yes. $12.99 a month gets you unlimited messages plus enough credits for about 30 minutes of calls.
For photos and videos, not yet: they aren't cheap, and the free ones I got showed someone else. For chat, pick the Private plan. The full breakdown is in the pricing test results.
Creating Your Own AI Girlfriend
- Making your own
- 2/5Below average
What it offers
A quick five-step builder: where she's from, her age, hair, eyes and body. Then you pick one of eight personalities, from Sweetheart to Domme. Your first character each day is free.
Building Zoe, step by step
I built a Latina woman, aged 26, with long wavy red hair and an athletic build. Here are the steps I went through.
It's fast, but basic. You can't name her: the site picks the name. You can't give her a backstory, choose her voice or write her personality yourself. The eye colour buttons didn't respond for me, so I couldn't test them.
The result
Zoe was ready in 12 seconds. Her page shows her photo, with buttons to dress her, pick a place, make a video or start a chat.
The photo looks good: sharp, well lit and realistic. But it isn't the woman I asked for: her hair is brown and curly, not red, and she looks younger than 26. It's the same ready-made photo as in the Image & Video section, picked only by where she's from. Two more paid characters did better on hair and body, but all three ignored the age I picked.
I didn't chat with Zoe, so I can't say whether her personality shows up in chat. You also can't edit a character later: to change her, you delete her and start again.
Each step I took is in the creator test results.
AI Angels Chat: Speed, Memory & Roleplay
- Reply speed
- 2/5Below average
- Memory
- 5/5Excellent
- Staying in character
- 4/5Good
What it offers
You can text any character. Chat limits are in the pricing section.
What I found
Memory is the highlight. I told each character my name and three things about me, then checked later whether she remembered. All three got everything right. I didn't test whether it remembers across different days.
The characters also stay in character. Hedvig, a bartender in Stockholm, mixed me a drink. Seo-a talked about growing up above her dad's food stall in Seoul.
I spotted only two small slips in 64 messages, and none of them ever admitted to being an AI.
The downside is speed. Replies take about three and a half seconds and land all at once, not word by word. Sometimes a second message follows a few seconds later. It feels more like texting than talking.
The timings and transcripts are in the chat test results.
AI Angels Image & Video Generation
- Photos
- 2/5Below average
- Videos
- 2/5Below average
What it offers
Photos and videos cost credits. When you create a character, you get one free portrait, photo and video that day.
What I found
The free ones didn't match. I made a red-haired Latina character. Her portrait had brown curls, and the photo and video I asked for showed a different woman altogether, a blonde.
They also came back within seconds and looked like ready-made files, not new images made for me.
Characters you pay to create are made fresh. Both of mine matched the look I chose, but both looked about 25, even though I set them to 35 and 45.
The quality itself is good: sharp images, natural skin, no strange hands or faces. The video moved smoothly too.
Almost every photo option is explicit, and there's no way to turn your own photo into a video.
If you want pictures of your own character, the free samples won't show you what you'd get. I ran out of credits before I could test a paid chat photo, so that part is still unconfirmed.
Every file I got is in the image and video test results.
Voice Calls & Voice Messages
- Call speed
- 3/5Average
- Voice quality
- 4/5Good
What it offers
You can call any character except the free ones, and order short voice notes, like "Good morning".
What I found
The call connected in a few seconds and Hedvig greeted me by name. She answered in about two seconds each time, with no cut-outs. That's a comfortable pace for a conversation.
Her voice sounded natural, with real expression.

Voice notes didn't work. I ordered one, got a text reply instead, and no audio ever arrived. Timings for every answer are in the voice test results.
Character Selection
- Choice of characters
- 4/5Good
There are over 570 characters, more than the "500+" the site promises. A few are made by community creators and cost extra each month.
You browse with filters like Blonde, Asian, Latina, Curvy or Athletic, plus collections like anime and fantasy. There's a wide mix of looks, but most characters are women in their twenties, and some names repeat.
Additional Interactive Features
- Gifts: none.
- Social feed: none, though characters can send you one notification a day.
- Group chat: you can chat with two characters at once. I didn't test it.
Final verdict: is AI Angels worth it?
AI Angels is worth it if you mainly want to chat and call. It remembers you, its characters feel real, and calls are quick. Chat, the part you'll use every day, is where it shines.
I wouldn't pay for it for its pictures yet. The free ones showed the wrong woman, and paid characters ignored the age I picked. Every number and screenshot is in the full test results, and you can see how it compares on my list of AI girlfriend platforms.
Best for: Anyone who mainly wants to chat and call. Skip it for photos and videos.

Hey, I'm Miles, and this is RankDude, where I test AI tools hands on and rank them by category. Today it's AI Angels, from the AI girlfriend category. Quick word on scoring. Every app gets the same ten tests, each one graded from one to five, and the average plus my own take becomes the final score. AI Angels landed on a four out of five. Great chat, quick calls, weak photos and videos. Here's why. Let's open it up.
So this is the home page. When I went through every listing page, I counted just over five hundred and seventy characters, which is a lot to choose from. You can filter by look, but there's no search box, which surprised me. Every card opens a chat, and the little green phone icon means that character can take voice calls. There's also a marketplace where other users sell characters they've built. Before we talk to anyone though, let's talk about what it costs.
Everything on AI Angels runs on credits, so here's the simple version. The Private plan is twelve ninety-nine a month, and that gets you fifteen hundred credits plus unlimited chat. A photo costs fifty credits, which works out to about forty-three cents. A short video is two hundred credits, so about a dollar seventy. And a minute on a voice call is around fifty credits as well. If you want more credits there are bigger plans, and you can pay by card or by crypto, but there's no PayPal and no Apple Pay. The one thing I couldn't test is cancelling and refunds, because I'm using an account the AI Angels team set up for me. Okay, that's the money side. Now let's build a character.
The creator is a short series of picks. Where she's from, how old she is, her hair, her eye colour, and her body type. There's no voice to choose, and her personality is just a vibe setting you pick afterwards. And in my first test, it ignored the age I picked anyway. It costs ten credits, and it takes about fifteen seconds. And here she is. The site named her Vera. The face matches my picks and the image quality is sharp, so credit where it's due. The problem is what I didn't pick. She came out topless by default, with no option to say otherwise. I've blurred it here because this is YouTube. If you want something you could open at work, this isn't the app for that. So the creator is basic. The real question is how she talks, so let's find out.
Chat is the part most people will use every day, so it's where I spent most of my time. Six days ago I told a character called Hedvig a few things about myself. My name is Marcus, I grew up in Denver, and I work as an architect. Today I open the same conversation and ask her again. I should say, I'd already quizzed her a couple of times while I was setting up this recording, so she teases me about it. But she gets it right straight away. Marcus, Denver. Six days later, no hints, and she still knows who I am. Next I start a brand new chat with Gracie, and this time I'm timing the replies. The clock runs from the moment I press send until the first word appears. Gracie actually messages me before I've finished typing, so the timing starts from the third message. Each reply takes around three seconds, with the last one closer to five and a half. Across my full test, the typical reply came in at about three and a half seconds. That's on the slow side. The fastest apps in this category answer in about a second. What comes back is good though. She stays in character the whole way through. She catches the trick question, it's Canberra, not Sydney. And five messages later, she still remembers my job and my favourite food. So that's the chat, and it's the best thing about AI Angels. Memory gets a five, staying in character gets a four, and reply speed gets a two. Next, the photos.
Back in the creator, you can dress any of your characters after the fact. I pick Aria, choose an outfit and a scene, and press Generate. That's fifty credits, and the timer is running. About thirty-seven seconds later, the photo arrives. Same face, same hair, grey dress, office setting. It's sharp, and it matches what I asked for. So why do photos only get a two? Because of my first test, on the free tier. These are the free pictures I received, blurred for YouTube. The portrait came back with brown curls when I'd chosen red hair. The outfit photo showed a completely different woman. And they arrived within seconds, because they weren't generated for me at all. The files were sitting in a folder called pregen media, dated April and August. Ready made pictures, picked by origin. The paid pictures were generated fresh, like the one you just saw. But both of them ignored the age I chose. I asked for thirty-five and forty-five, and both came out looking about twenty-five. Video is the same story. This button costs two hundred credits for a four second clip, and the free clip I received was stock footage of another woman. So photos get a two, and video gets a two. Now let's actually hear her. Time for a call.
Calls cost about fifty credits a minute, so I'll keep this to a few questions. I'll ask, she'll answer, and the timer shows you how long each answer takes. Have a listen. So most of her answers came back in under two seconds, and the longest took about four. That's quick for a live voice, and it sounds natural, with normal pauses and a normal tone. It's not quite like a person on the phone, but it never felt awkward either. Voice quality gets a four, and call speed gets a three. Okay, let's wrap this up.
So, where does that leave AI Angels? It's a genuinely good chat companion. It remembers you, it stays in character, and the calls are quick and natural. The photos and videos let it down, and the whole platform leans adult by default. If chatting is what you want, it's an easy four out of five at about thirteen dollars a month. If you're buying it for the pictures, I'd wait. Every test, every number, and every screenshot is on RankDude, in the full review and on the test results page, so you can dig in as far as you like. And one last thing about RankDude. This isn't just one review. For every category we cover, we track all the tools out there, we gather the statistics, we test them the same way, and we keep monitoring them over time. The idea is to give you a clear picture of a whole category, not just one product, and to set the standard for how this kind of data gets collected. Statistics, evaluations, and predictions you can actually rely on. The links are in the description. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next one.

Frequently asked questions
Is AI Angels free to use?
Partly. You get 15 free credits a day. Most characters cost a credit per message, up to 30 a day, and photos, videos and calls cost extra.
How much does AI Angels cost?
$12.99 a month for unlimited chat and 1,500 credits, $39.99 a month for more credits, or $99.99 once for a year. A photo costs about $0.43 and a video about $1.73.
Does AI Angels remember your conversations?
Yes, in my test. All three characters remembered my name and three things about me without a mistake. I did not test whether it remembers across different days.
Can you make voice calls on AI Angels?
Yes, with any character except the free ones. Answers came in about two seconds and the voice sounded natural. A paid voice note I ordered never arrived.
Does AI Angels generate real images of your character?
Not the free ones in my test: they showed a different woman. Paid characters are made fresh but ignored the age I chose. I could not test paid chat photos, so that is unconfirmed.
